Diana Silva predicts a "super demanding" clash with Belgium

Footballer Diana Silva said today that the Portuguese women's team has "increased confidence" and anticipated a "super demanding" game on Wednesday against Belgium, in the second round of Group A3 of the Nations League. Ana Seiça, Ana Rute Rodrigues and Catarina Amado are the players from the district who are representing the "navigators".
“Being in this competition is only for elite teams, so it will be super demanding, just like the game against England and will be against Spain,” said the player, quoted by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) communication channels.
The Portuguese team drew (1-1) on Friday with their England counterparts, in the first round of Group A3 of the Women's Nations League, played at the Estádio Municipal de Portimão, with the group remaining in the Algarve for training.
“We haven’t had the chance to analyse Belgium yet, we’ve analysed our mistakes and the positive points from the last game. But it will be an equally difficult team, which will bring us other difficulties. We’ll have to be super strong against them”, reinforced Diana Silva.
The Sporting player highlighted that the draw against European champions England brought “a sense of increased confidence”, which the group hopes to “take into this game”, because “every point counts” to ensure permanence in the top division of the Nations League.
“We need to continue to be demanding of ourselves and improve certain confidence issues within the game,” he added.
The 29-year-old forward has already won more than 100 international caps and said she was “very proud” of her career with the women’s national team.
“I am immensely happy to see where we were and where we are now. The growth has been incredible in such a short time and I hope we continue to grow and be on these stages,” he concluded.
After Kika Nazareth was dismissed due to injury on Sunday, today also forward Ana Capeta was considered “not fit” by the FPF Health and Performance Unit, and therefore dismissed from the national team's work, the federation reported.
The group led by coach Francisco Neto was reduced to 24 players.
On the second day, the Portuguese team travels to Belgium, with the match scheduled for Wednesday, at 19:15 (Lisbon time), at the Den Dreef Stadium, in Leuven.
The group also includes world champions Spain, who beat Belgium at home in their debut (3-2), turning the score around after trailing by two goals.
